Chris Smith, a former Agriculture Dept. CIO, was named VP of technology for AT&T’s government solutions business and will oversee a team of 175 technologists.
“He is going to be an important engine of innovation for AT&T in the federal sector,” said Kay Kapoor, president of the government solutions business.
The 25-year federal market veteran most recently served as U.S. federal chief technology and innovation officer at Accenture.
In other news, William Maguire has been promoted to COO at IntelliDyne, where he will oversee the development of the company’s business growth plans.
“Bill Maguire’s leadership and innovation have created strategic solutions that provide measurable business impact for our clients and employees,” said Tony Crescenzo, IntelliDyne CEO.
The nearly 30-year IT veteran served as VP and CIO at Virgin America before joining IntelliDyne in 2010.

Frank Bruno has been named VP for Battelle’s Air Force unit and will manage the nonprofit organization’
Bruno, a 29-year military veteran, held leadership roles at other defense contractors before joining Battelle.
The retired Air Force brigadier general served as the logistics director for the Air Force’s materiel command at Wright-Patterson AFB starting in 2007.
