TYSONS CORNER, VA May 20, 2015 — Computer Sciences Corp. said it is preparing to separate its commercial and U.S. public sector businesses in a bid to accelerate its transformation as a company focused on long-term growth in both markets, GovCon Wire reported Tuesday.
The company expects completion of the separation in late 2015, following fulfillment of customary closing conditions, including board approval and filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
“During the first three years of CSC’s turnaround, we benefitted from taking a unified approach,” CSC CEO Mike Lawrie said Tuesday.
“The progress we’ve made, coupled with the changing demands of the market, make this a good time to give these two businesses room to thrive as independent companies, able to move decisively to capture the opportunities in front of them.”
