TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 23, 2017 — The Defense Department and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) are in the process of negotiating a potential $9 billion contract as part of efforts to reduce the price of F-35 fighter jets, GovCon Wire reported Friday.
Reuters reported Thursday the contract for the next batch of F-35s is scheduled to be announced by the end of January and will cover 90 units with a price of under $100 million per aircraft.
