In ExecutiveGovs continuing effort to cover the most important events and individuals shaping federal policy, a number of new stories were published this past week.
The website covered a number of big names and headlines in government including Steven Miller and Mike Vickers.
Steven Miller has been named the acting lead of the Internal Revenue Service.
The news comes as Doug Shulman said he will step down when his term ends on Novermber 9, leaving a vacancy in the top spot at the IRS.
Miller currently serves as deputy commissioner for services and enforcement and is a 25-year IRS veteran.
Mike Vickers serves as the undersecretary of Defense for intelligence and spoke at a GEOINT conference in Orlando, Fl. last week.
One of the key points in his address came when he spoke about new National Reconnaissance satellites saying they are “the most significant change to our overhead architecture in at least three decades.”
Vickers also referred to two more capabilities of NRO including machine-to-machine intelligence tracking and a new bomber which he referred to as “the operational manifestation” of the strategic shift to the Pacific.
