Executive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA December 3, 2014 – ExecutiveGov reported Tuesday on comments Huntington Ingalls Industries CEO Mike Petters made this week on the clear direction he believes military and defense contractors need from government to help them plan for the future amid a continued budget uncertainty.
Petters told Reuters in an interview Monday that industry takes cues from the public sector on potential investment areas, and balance this against work to drive down long-term costs.
“It sort of feels like we’re saving money because we’re keeping the numbers down, but in fact we’re making the things that we want to buy… more expensive,” he was quoted as saying.
