Ball Aerospace Names Jim Oschmann, Cary Ludtke Leads for New Space Units 

Effective Jan. 2, Ball Aerospace and Technologiesappointed Jim Oschmann VP and GM of a new civil space unit and Cary Ludtke to the same positions of a new operational space unit.

Oschmann will oversee projects for civilian customers, including the James Webb Space Telescope and the Green Propellant Infusion Mission, and was succeeded as VP and GM for tactical solutions by 28-year Navy aviation veteran Rob Freedman.

Ludtke has been with Ball for close to three decades and will continue to lead programs such as the Joint Polar Satellite System and the Operational Land Imager in his new role.
John Hillen on Sotera’s Appointment of Rick White as CIO

Rick White has elevated to CIO at Sotera Defense Solutions, where he will develop and implement IT offerings aimed at helping customers with information- and technology-related missions.

“We must continue to demonstrate true technology thought leadership in our market space and enhance our ability scale our own IT and information systems infrastructure to meet the dynamic mission needs of our customers,” said John Hillen, Sotera president and CEO.
White previously served as the company’s VP and solutions architect and led the IT team in designing tech offerings for proposals.   
George Pedersen on Mantech’s Health IT Buy and $4B CMS IDIQ Pick-Up
ManTech International has acquired ALTA Systems, a Fairfax, Va.-based IT and professional services company. 
ALTA holds a prime position on a potential $4 billion Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services contract vehicle for enterprise systems development, which ManTech will inherit a position on.
“This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to steadily expand our service offering in the growing healthcare market,” said George Pedersen, ManTech chairman and CEO.
ALTA joins ManTech’s healthcare business and provides offerings in areas including system design, development and operation and statistical analysis services to its customers.
CTO Ray Johnson to Lead Lockheed Operations and Program Mgmt in Reorganization

Dr. Ray Johnson, CTO at Lockheed Martin, and his technology organization will assume responsibility for the company’s operations and program management functions. 

The reorganization comes as CEO Marillyn Hewson is consolidating corporate functions that report to her at Lockheed’s Bethesda, Md. headquarters. 
Bruce Tanner, CFO, will now lead enterprise business services and corporate internal audit functions and John Lucas, SVP, will lead the corporate communications and security team under a new HR organization.
