Northrop Names Mills Operations Head, New Sector and Biz Development Heads

One move is effective immediately, as the board of directors elected David David PerryPerry (right) to serve as corporate VP and chief global business development officer.
GeoEye, DigitalGlobe Set To Become One In $900M Merger
The board of directors at GeoEye and DigitalGlobe voted to approve a merger through an estimated $900 million cash-and-stock transaction.
Matt OConnellGeoEye CEO Matt O’Connell, who will hold an advisory position at the combined firm, said the companies “believe this transaction represents the best path forward for our shareowners, our customers, and ultimately, the taxpayer.”
Jeffrey Tarr (right), president and CEO at DigitalGlobe, will hold the chief Jeffrey Tarrexecutive position and DigitalGlobe Chairman and Retired Air Force Gen. Howard Estes will chair the 10-member board.
Both companies said they aim to generate more commercial and international revenue as they adjust to new funding for the EnhancedView program.
Dan Gobel Named President of BAE Systems Inc.’s Electronic Systems
Dan GobelDan Gobel will succeed Tom Arseneault as president of BAE Systems Inc.’s electronic systems sector on the heels of Arseneault’s promotion to CTO and EVP for product sectors.
A 20-year BAE vet, Gobel previously served as the sector’s VP and deputy GM and was president of the platform solutions sector prior to its 2011 merger with electronic systems.
The company said Gobel helped form the concept of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, along with the aircraft’s demonstration and system development programs.
He is also a program management alum of General Dynamics.
Gregory Taylor to Lead Business Development, M&A for Harris
Gregory TaylorMore than 23-year industry vet Gregory Taylor (left) has filled Harris‘ new VP of corporate strategy and business development role and will “play a key role in establishing and aligning our overall strategic direction, investments and new market development for the future,” according to President and CEO William Brown (right)
Taylor previously served as VP of sales, marketing, strategy and business development for UTC Automation & Controls Solutions, where he developed business strategy and commercial structure.
His previous executive experience includes developing emerging market growth initiatives for UTC’s global fire products division and an SVP role at global venture capital firm Investor Growth Capital.
Peter Flory to Help Grow QinetiQ’s International Technology Business

Peter FloryPeter Flory will help lead QinetiQ North America‘s international expansion as the firm’s new VP for international operations in the technology solutions group.
A former associate coordinator for counterterrorism at the State Department, Flory most recently worked at NATO headquarters in Brussels as assistant secretary general for defense investment.
He previously was assistant secretary for international security policy at the Pentagon and has also served as special counsel to the Senate Intelligence Committee.
