TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 17, 2017 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has stated that it is on the verge of closing a deal on a new contract that will work to mitigate the costs for F-35 fighter jets as well as open 1,800 new jobs at the company’s Fort Worth facility, GovCon Wire reported Friday.
The contract will cover the production of the next batch of F-35s consisting of 90 aircraft, Lockheed CEO Marillyn Hewson said in a written statement posted Friday on Twitter.
