Executive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA December 23, 2014 — Ray Johnson, chief technology officer at Lockheed Martin, has told the Washington Post that laser systems have the potential to make the top acquisitions list in five years’ time, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
The Post article published Friday looked at industry and military views on what stage the technology is in its development as a weapon on the Pentagon’s arsenal.
It quoted Johnson and other government contracting executives as saying that lasers could soon be one of the most sought-after technologies in defense as manufacturers work to improve their accuracy, power and versatility in ever-smaller form factors.
