Stu SheaHot on the heels of naming former Air Force Chief of Staff John Jumper to succeed Walt Havenstein as CEO, SAIC this week promoted Stu Shea to chief operating officer, effectively immediately.The seven-year SAIC veteran previously served as president of the firm’s ISR group and led 13,000 scientists and engineers in support of national security efforts.
Shea also chairs the board of two SAIC subsidiaries and was VP for space and intelligence for TASC before that company broke off from Northrop Grumman.
“I am grateful to be given the opportunity to work with an extraordinary leadership team in refining and executing our strategy for growth,” Shea said this week.
On March 12, SAIC will also have a new deputy GM for mission support, after naming 25-year industry and intelligence veteran Mary Craft to that position this week.
Craft previously worked in the defense and intelligence markets as SVP at Qinetiq North America and as a VP for General Dynamics Advanced Information Solutions.
Up to $7B in Army Renewable Energy IDIQs announced
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers may soon award up to $7 billion in IDIQs to contractors to gain access to wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and other renewable energy.
A recent request for proposals indicated contractors will finance, design, build and operate energy plants to supply the Army with the fuel resources, which could support the assertion that infrastructure revenues are heating up.
The RFP also said IDIQs could contain power purchase agreementslasting up to 30 years for the locally generated renewables.
NJVC promotes DeCourcey, Jackson to VP posts
Lynn DeCourceyNJVC has tapped General Managers Lynn DeCourcey and Kevin Jackson to lead the company’s cybersecurity and cloud computing units, respectively.
Kevin JacksonThe two executives will report to NJVC COO Jill Bruning and work out of the company’s headquarters in Vienna, Va.
NJVC also tapped Gary Lackey to lead print solutions in a GM and VP role based out of Missouri.
Mixon accepts president role at Universal Hospital Services

Bill MixonBill Mixon, the former US Investigative Services CEOwho oversaw captures of positions on close to $3 billion in recent contract awards, has joined medical equipment management firm Universal Hospital Services as president.
Universal said it tapped Mixon for his experience in crafting strategy for expanding market share as it looks to improve its healthcare facility business.
His new position will entail leading marketing and sales functions.
Mixon, who is being succeeded at USIS by Peter Masanoti,
served as chief executive at the federal background investigations providers from 2008 to 2011, including when USIS won positions on contracts worth up to $2.7 billion to support the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
