GovCon Wire publishes a number of stories each week that includes executive appointments, M&A activity and earnings reports at GovCon firms.
This week, the biggest news the website covered was the announcement that Alan Weakley, a former group president at CSC was appointed president of stability missions support provider Sterling Global Operations.
Matt Kaye, SGO chief executive, said Weakley brings experience in running organizations to his new role as the company aims to grow its operations and footprint worldwide.
The Lenoir City, Tenn.-based firm has 3,500 employees and offers munitions response, security, intelligence support and logistics services to customers operating in remote locations.
During his industry career, Weakley has held leadership roles at URS Corp. and EG&G Federal Services in addition to CSC.
Weakley most recently led CSC’s North American public sector defense organization and led an 8,000-employee team in CSC’s applied technology group prior to that.
Weakley served on two nuclear-powered submarines between 1980 and 1986 during his time in the U.S. Navy.
