The national security, health and engineering business will be named “Leidos” and will be led by John Jumper and Stu Shea.
“It’s a memorable word with dynamic connotations that capture the energy, talent and passion that our employees bring as they work to deliver solutions that protect our nation, our communities, and our families,” Shea said of the Leidos name.
According to an SAIC press release, the name is intended to reflect how the company brings together ideas from different angles representing a kaleidoscope.
The SAIC board of directors has yet to approve both the name change and the separation itself.
“SAIC has brand equity built over 44 years of outstanding performance delivering for customers in technical services and enterprise IT, and we will capitalize on that,” Tony Moraco, the future CEO of the enterprise technology part of the business.
