TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 28, 2016 — The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems‘ U.S. arm a potential five-year, $86 million contract to provide management, engineering, maintenance and information technology services, GovCon Wire reported Tuesday.
The company said Nov. 21 it will install several mission equipment, combat systems and computer programs that will work to address present and potential operational requirements of the Naval Sea Systems Command’s Surface Combat Systems Center.
DeEtte Gray, president of the intelligence and security sector at BAE Systems Inc., said the company will support the interoperability of deployed naval systems and technologies.
“This is critical work that is supporting the Navy’s strategy to provide the fleet with the advanced capabilities it needs in an increasingly complex maritime environment,” she added.
