TYSONS CORNER, VA, Nov. 29, 2016 — Norway’s defense ministry intends to purchase five Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft worth an estimated $1.2 billion, GovCon Wire reported Monday.
The ministry said Friday the P-8A will work to monitor Norway’s territorial waters and address current and potential security challenges.
The aircraft will replace the country’s current fleet of six P-3 Orion and three DA-20 Jet Falcon.
