The New New Internet unveiled a number of timely and important news items this week geared toward the government contracting executive.
This week, the technology published two stories that captured headlines in the GovCon community.
The first story is about a new Boing-built missile that is able to knock out all computer and electric systems in a building or structure.
The missile disrupts the electricity by sending out high-power microwaves and hit seven total targets when it was recently tested (there is a video embedded in the article of the test).
“[The missile] may be used to render an enemy’s electronic and data systems useless even before the first troops or aircraft arrive.” said Keith Coleman, CHAMP program manager for Boeing Phantom Works.

The next headline story dealt with AT&T’s government solutions business and their cloud computing-based storage services offering.
The news is that the General Services Administration has given AT&T permission to offer their cloud- based service to federal agencies.
“With its ‘Cloud First’ policy, the Obama administration signaled its strong support for the cloud and the powerful benefits this platform provides federal agencies,” said Thomas Harvey, AT&T senior vice president for government solutions.
