John<br /> JumperSAIC Inc. has released the long-awaited news of who will succeed Walt Havenstein as CEO, announcing Tuesday that five-year SAIC director and former chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force John Jumper will assume the chief executive role March 1.A nearly 40-year Air Force veteran, Jumper will remain on SAIC’s board, which he has served on since 2007.Jumper served as chief of staff, the most senior uniformed officer in the Air Force, between 2001 and 2005. In that role, he held primary responsibility for organizing, training and equipping forces.
The Virginia Military Institute graduate also served as senior military assistant to two secretaries of defense.Havenstein announced his intent to retire from SAIC in October and may help transition Jumper through June. Havenstein joined SAIC as CEO in September 2009 after a stint as CEO of BAE Systems Inc.
Mark Gerencser: Time to “reimagine” infrastructure

To successfully “reimagine” infrastructure and replace short-term stopgaps with long-term strategic planning, the authors say we must remember: “innovation propelled our country during the past century… today, we can’t settle for repairing last century’s systems.”CACI Taps Lockheed Vet Mengucci as U.S. COO
CACI on Wednesday announced the company has appointed John Mengucci to oversee CACI’s four main business groups as chief operating officer for U.S. operations.
Mengucci previously served as president of Lockheed Martin‘sinformation systems and global solutions‘ civil product line and led relationships with the FBINASA, the Federal Aviation Administration and the departments of Homeland Security andJustice.
Dan AllenDaniel Allen, CACI president of U.S. operations, said CACI brought on Mengucci with the hope of accelerating its expansion into emerging markets. Mengucci also served as president of defense within Lockheed ISGS, leading execution and growth for ISR, IT solutions and services and data fusion.
Former Justice CIO Van Hitch Joins Deloitte
Tab WarlitnerDeloitte has brought on former Justice Departmentchief information officer Van Hitch as a senior adviser, to report to Tab Warlitner, leader of Deloitte’s federal civilian segment.
Warlitner said Hitch will use his knowledge, experience and CIO relationships to keep federal clients informed about Deloitte’s technology offerings.
During his nine years as Justice CIO, Hitch established a review board for IT investments and lead IT transformations in cybersecurity and law enforcement.
In his advisory capacity, Hitch’s focus will be on long-term technology solutions for federal CIOs.
