David Burg on PwC’s Appointment of Charles Beard as Principal
Charles Beard has been named a principal at PwC’s advisory practice, where he will provide clients consulting services related to cybersecurity.
Beard most recently served as SVP and GM of SAIC’s cybersecurity group and was also CIO for the McLean, Va.-based firm.
David Burg said cybersecurity has become a top priority for CEOs and Beard brings experience in cyber, technology and consulting to his new role.
At SAIC, Beard served on the Defense Industrial Base Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council and helped promote cybersecurity information sharing between government and industry.
Stu Shea on New Leidos Strategic Development EVP John Thomas
John Thomas has elevated to EVP of strategic development at Leidos, where he will oversee strategy, M&A, communications and government affairs after SAIC splits into two firms.
The 33-year Army vet previously served as acting national security sector president at SAIC and led the intell systems business unit prior.
Stu Shea, Leidos’ future COO, said Thomas will manage strategic initiatives, identify acquisition opportunities and create business strategies in his new role.
Lou Von Thaer succeeded Thomas as head of the national security sector.
Tod Weber on Software AG’s Addition of John Hillen to the Govt Solutions Board
John Hillen is one of three appointees to the board of directors at Software AG Government Solutions.
The former assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs serves as vice chairman of Sotera Defense Solutions’ board of advisers and was president and CEO of the firm for five years.
Tod Weber, Software AG Government chairman and CEO, said that all three appointees have experience with providing and delivering IT offerings in a strained budget climate.
The other two board appointees include Chuck Hefleblower, SAIC SVP, and Alan Wade, former CIA CIO and security director.
Ken Narod on Eaton’s Appointment of William Anderson to Help Lead Govt Energy BD
William Anderson has become strategic development executive for power management company Eaton’s government segment.
Ken Narod, Eaton director of government sales and solutions, said Anderson possesses critical technology and international experience that will help the company address the government’s energy management challenges.
Anderson was the assistant Air Force secretary from 2005-2008 and has served in the private sector in firms such as Arthur Andersen, GE and Merrill Lynch.
