Lanny Cohen Appointed Capgemini Global CTO

Lanny Cohen has elevated to Capgemini global chief technology officer and will work to build partnerships and manage business activities for the global consulting firm.

Cohen will continue to coordinate commercial activities as chair of the company’s North American board and will also serve as head of the intellectual property board.

Paul Hermelin, chairman and CEO, said Cohen will work with the leadership team to drive innovation in the technology services and business transformation company.

Tim Bridges, corporate VP, will succeed Cohen as head of the North American application services business.

Paul Lemmo Elevates to Lockheed SVP of BD and Corporate Strategy

Paul Lemmo has been promoted to SVP of corporate strategy and business development at Lockheed Martin, where he will oversee global strategies and new business capture for an organization with offices in 25 U.S. cities and 25 countries.

The 24-year veteran previously served as VP of BD and strategy in Lockheed’s IS&GS business and led BD for the mission systems and sensors business prior to that role.

Marilyn Hewson, Lockheed President and CEO, said Lemmo is 25-year industry veteran with experience in engineering and project management as well as BD.

Lemmo succeeds Patrick Dewar, who now leads Lockheed’s new international organization and is responsible for customer relationships and industrial partnerships.

Accenture has New Leaders in Finance and Accounting

Accenture made two significant announcements in the past week, including a position on a $64 million IDIQ to update Oracle applications for the SEC.

Ed Meehan, federal civilian agency portfolio lead, said the contract will help the SEC better connect its customers to benefits, services and information.

The company also announced C-level executive news as David Rowland started in his role as CFO and Richard Clark was appointed chief accounting officer, effective Sept. 1.

Clark is a 30-year company veteran who previously led the company’s 3,500 employee finance operation.

Raytheon Acquires Big Data Software Firm Visual Analytics

Raytheon has added new analytics and knowledge management offerings to its intelligence data processing portfolio by acquiring Frederick, Md.-based Visual Analytics Inc.

Visual Analytics makes visual data mining and information sharing products and will operate as Raytheon Visual Analytics within the intelligence, information and services business.

Lynn Dugle, IIS president, said Raytheon aims to bring new visualization offerings to customers that seek to transform data into actionable intelligence.

Raytheon will retain Visual Analytics’ co-founders Chris Westphal and David O’Connor as general manager and CTO, respectively, as it looks to broaden its customer base through the deal.

Gene Colabatistto on CAE’s $95M Int’l Military Service Contract Win

CAE has secured several far-reaching military services contracts, announcing this week it has recently won close to $100 million of work in more than 15 countries such as the U.S.

Through foreign military sales agreements and other means, the company will provide flight simulators for helicopters and maintenance training for maritime self-defense, among other work.

“We are focused on a diverse pipeline of opportunities in both the established and emerging markets and I am pleased we are winning new programs in the Asia-Pacific region involving countries such as Japan, Korea, Singapore, India and others,” said Gene Colabatistto, CAE group president for military products, training and services.

The company also won deals with customers in Turkey and Finland and operates more than 100 sites and training locations in around 30 countries total.

Richard Montoni on Maximus’ Acquirement of a UK-Based Healthcare Provider

Maximus moved to grow the international reach of its healthcare services operations by picking up Health Management Ltd., a healthcare services provider with around 450 government and commercial clients.

In addition to working with the U.K.’s central government departments, Maximus said Health Management works with police, fire authorities and local authorities and specializes in health assessment services.

“The acquisition provides an excellent platform to best position MAXIMUS for opportunities in the UK health market and also supports our long-term growth objectives as we expand our service offerings and bring our core capabilities into new markets,” said Richard Montoni, CEO.

Maximus raised its revenue guidance for its 2013 fiscal year after closing the deal and emphasized its current work in the U.K. as a provider for the Work Program.
