This week, the newsletter contained major executive appointments at TASC and Northrop Grumman as well as a major contract win for Reston, Va.-based Leidos.
In a big announcement Wednesday night, TASC announced that COO John Hynes would elevate to CEO at the the Chantilly,Va.-based firm.
He started his career at the firm but has also worked for SAIC and ManTech.
The 13-year TASC veteran returned to the firm as SVP of the defense and civil group in 2011 after leaving in 2001.

In other executive news, Mark Skinner has been named VP and deputy of business and advanced systems development of the aerospace systems sector.
In this role he will lead the sector’s presence in D.C. and report to the government relations management team.
Skinner is a 36-year military veteran who most recently served as principal military deputy to the assistant navy secretary for research, development and acquisition.
“Mark built a career in the Navy that has resulted in a deep understanding of our customers’ needs,” said Bob Burke, Northrop sector VP of business and advanced systems development.
In contract news for the week, Leidos won a potential $442 million contract from the TSA to manage and sustain more than 11,250 government transportation security tools.
Larry Hill, Leidos group general manager, said the contract is intended to secure U.S. transportation infrastructure and homeland security.
The company will perform work at nearly 448 airports and other government sites under the contract.
