The website published a number of stories this week including pieces about the leadership at the Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as the National Counterterrorism Center.
Matthew Olsen served as director of the National Counterterroism Center for three years and announced his resignation from the post on Wednesday.
“Matt and the dedicated professionals he has led at the NCTC have been absolutely critical to our success in disrupting terrorist cells, thwarting attacks and protecting the American people from evolving threats at home and abroad,” President Barack Obama said in a statement posted Wednesday on the White House website.
He recently served as general counsel and chief legal officer for the National Security Agency and principal legal adviser to its director.

Julian Castro was confirmed as the secretary of Housing and Urban Development on Wednesday.
He will step down from his current role as Mayor of San Antonio when the city finds a successor.
“We will allow more responsible Americans to achieve the dream of home ownership,” he told a press conference.
“Julian has lived the American Dream in his own life, and I’m confident he will help Americans across our country seize their own piece of that dream for themselves and their children,” President Barack Obama said.
