Horace Blackman of Lockheed Martin said healthcare information technology has emerged as a key market where government contractors could find the “biggest opportunities,” ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.
Blackman, vice president of health and life sciences at Lockheed, told the Washington Post that the Obama administration’s health insurance reforms present new business for defense-oriented companies that the publication indicated largely have been impacted by a reduced military budget.
“This is a pretty exciting time to be in the federal health IT space,” Blackman was quoted as saying.
“The biggest opportunities I would point to are efforts associated with the Affordable Care Act.”
