TYSONS CORNER, VA April 6, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — GovCon Wire reported Thursday on Austal USA and Lockheed Martin receiving contract modifications for each to build two more littoral combat ships for the U.S. Navy.
The award includes $691 million for a pair of Austal warships and $362 million for one Lockheed LCS, USNI News reported Wednesday.
The report said the Navy also awarded $79 million to partially cover the second Lockheed vessel.
Neil King, director of business development for littoral ship systems at Lockheed Martin, said the company expects the rest of the funds to be available before yearend.
