TYSONS CORNER, VA July 27, 2015 — Engility Holdings has been awarded $14 million to provide technical support for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s wildlife protection program in Tanzania, GovCon Wire reported Friday.
The contract includes assistance in formulating strategies designed to help eradicate the illegal trafficking of ivory horns and other wildlife products and boost ecotourism in the East African state, Engility said Thursday.
“This contract will enable Engility to expand its technical assistance work in Africa, where we currently support a range of programs designed to further USAID’s mission to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential,” stated Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2015.
