TYSONS CORNER, VA September 3, 2015 — Heidi Shyu, U.S. Army assistant secretary for acquisition, logistics and technology, spoke at a Potomac Officers Club breakfast event this week to describe how the service is utilizing an open architecture approach in its bid to achieve gains in technology acquisition and innovation.
“Architectures must be open to the latest software that we can procure quickly,” Shyu, an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2015, told the POC.
“We’re looking to work with companies that know we need to move faster. When their architecture is open, they find success,” she added.
Shyu’s POC engagement is part of this year’s CIO speaker series focused on federal IT spending trends.
