TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 12, 2016 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) has secured several defense pacts with the U.K. government for aircraft procurement, research and development spending and job creation, GovCon Wire reported Monday.
The report said the U.K. plans to purchase nine P-8A Poseidon maritime surveillance aircraft and 50 Apache AH-64E helicopters under foreign military sales deals worth a combined $6.2 billion.
Boeing, in return, will establish the U.K. as its main base for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services in Europe and for defense exports to Europe and the Middle East.
