ManTech International finalized its acquisition of Sacramento-based software security firm HBGary this week for an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Bill Varner-led mission, cyber and intelligence group will absorb the firm and form a new commercial business unit with its assets.
Varner said Mantech is looking to expand its public sector portfolio through the deal and broaden its financial, energy and technology platforms.
Senior Vice President of Cyber Strategy Ken Silva will lead the new unit.
SAP launches national security, big data unit led by Mark Testoni
Mark Testoni has taken the lead of SAP National Security Services, a newly formed U.S. subsidiary that streamlines the company’s Sybase federal and government support and services operations.
On top of consulting and supporting national security customers, SAP NS2 will support private defense contractors and house enterprise applications, analytics and cloud computing services.
Testoni said the subsidiary will provide the same tools SAP provides Fortune 500 companies to manage, analyze and mobilize large amounts of data.
Electric Boat vet John Casey tapped as General Dynamics Marine Systems EVP
General Dynamics has tapped John Casey, CEO of its Electric Boat subsidiary, to succeed recently appointed President and Chief Operating OfficerPhebe Novakovic as executive vice president of the marine systems group.
Casey will take over the role May 2, the same day Novakovic assumes her new positions. He has led Electric Boat as its president since 2003 and joined the submarine maker in 1979.
The Marine Systems group includes Electric Boat, as well as General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works and NASSCO subsidiaries.
Salient looks to expand civilian business with IT acquisition
Salient Federal Solutions will soon operate two new business units with assets from its April 2 acquisition of McLean, Va.-based federal IT provider ATS Corp.
The new groups will provide civilian and software engineering solutions and are meant to complement Salient’s current defense, homeland security and intelligence offerings, according to CEO Brad Antle.
With the deal, Salient adds positions on the General Services Administration‘s Alliant vehicle, a U.S. Army HR contract and several government-wide civilian acquisition contracts.
ATSC is a service provider for case management, federal financial systems, health information systems and border and port security.
Siemens taps Clay Hale as Government Technologies CFO, SVP
Eighteen-year Siemens veteran Clay Hale hastaken over the senior vice president and chief financial officer roles for Siemens Government Technologies.
Organization President and CEO Judy Marks said Hale’s experience from multiple industry sectors at the company will instruct his new role as a principal driver of business strategy and investments.
Hale will also oversee all of the organization’s financial activities. He most recently led all financial and commercial aspects of Siemens Industry.
