Bill VarnerManTech Wins New FBI IT Award as Bill Varner Celebrates Office’s 20+ Years of Bureau Service
ManTech International will soon begin operating and updating FBI IT systems on a new $78 million contractsigned through the GSA‘s Alliant contract vehicle.
Bill Varner, president and COO of mission, cyber and intelligence solutions, said contract work will support the bureau’s IT and identification systems and extend a regional office’s more than 20 years of bureau support.
Under the award, the company will provide engineering services for a criminal justice information division that shares information with other law enforcement agencies. Work could last up to four-and-a-half years if all options are exercised.
Inmarsat taps ISR veteran David Helfgott as Govt President, CEO
David HelfgottTwenty-year technology, service and ISR veteranDavid Helfgott took another step up at Inmarsat this week, elevating to the role of president and CEO of Inmarsat Government.
Helfgott previously held the SVP of business development and strategy role for the British satellite communications company, while also serving as president of its U.S. subsidiary, Inmarsat Inc.
In his new role, the former president of Cobham‘s wireless ISR technology unit will lead overall strategy and direction. He has also held chief executive positions at satellite technology firms DataPath Inc. and SES Americom Government Services.
Marcus Collier on GDIT’s Win of $500M to Support OPM IT Systems
General Dynamics Information Technology will take in up to $500 million over two blanket purchase agreements to develop applications and provide other services for the Office of Personnel Management.
Marcus CollierMarcus Collier, VP of health and civilian solutions, said contract work will support infrastructure, cloud computing, unified communications and cybersecurity, and will include designing, developing and deploying applications.

Work on the BPAs marks more than 27 years of GDIT support for OPM and will include server management, network engineering and teleworking support.
David Dacquino New Owner of VT Services by Jordan Company Improves Support

 DacquinoNew York private equity firm The Jordan Companypurchased VT Services this week as part of a plan to win more federal business.
The company will now pursue organic and more acquired growth in the government services market, according to Jonathan F. Boucher, managing principal for The Jordan Company
David Dacquino, VT’s CEO, reiterated that sentiment, saying “under The Jordan Company’s ownership, VT is poised for growth and we will continue to strive to manage the full lifecycle of our customers’ critical assets.”
VT previously operated as an independent subsidiary and was fully-owned by British engineering services firm Babcock International Group.

Ashley Burke, vice president of communications atDynCorp International, told GovCon Exec magazine in its Spring Big Data issue that companies are operating in an “era of heightened reassessment to new fiscal realities and changing government priorities.”
