Soon after the start of the 2014 year, Executive Mosaic’s leadership elected 100 executives and officials from across the GovCon landscape as the 2013 class of the Wash100, the premier group of leaders on both sides of the intersection of the private and public sectors.
Near the top of the inductees stood Bill Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech International‘s mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group, who has been at the forefront of his firm’s expansion and growth in technological areas since he joined the group in 2009.
Varner’s fingerprints and perspectives can be found from ManTech’s expansion of its cloud computing capabilities and reach, to its infrastructure support for national security programs, to its thought leadership in the collaboration between industry and government on how to best share information and utilize cybersecurity resources.
Varner joined ManTech from the vice president and executive director roles within the 
Intelligence Operations Unit at Northrop Grumman-TASC. Varner joined TASC in 1978 and helped its intelligence operations earn the level 5 Capability Maturity Model Integration Level 5 certification in software development.
“We are in an interesting environment where I believe we will see a lot of cooperation between the DOJ (FBI), the DHS, and the DoD (NSA) in protecting our critical infrastructure,” Varner noted to GovCon Exec.
“ManTech is in a great position to support each of those agencies.”
