Different types of ED drugs

There are three main types of ED drugs – PDE5 Inhibitors, Vasodilators, and Stimulants. PDE5 Inhibitors – PDE5 Inhibitors are the most common type of ED drugs, as they are effective in around 90% of cases. PDE5 Inhibitors work by blocking an enzyme called PDE5. This enzyme normally breaks down a chemical called cyclic GMP, which is important for erections. By blocking PDE5, PDE5 Inhibitors increase cyclic GMP levels and improve erections. Examples of PDE5 Inhibitors include Viagra, Cialis, and Revatil. Vasodilators – Vasodilators can be used in combination with PDE5 Inhibitors, or they can be used alone in cases where PDE5 Inhibitors are not effective. amphetamineexamples of vasodilators are papaverine, phentolamine, and alprostadil, but there are many other drugs that can be used in a similar way. Stimulants – Stimulants such as amphetamine, methylphenidate, and modafinil are used in cases where PDE5 Inhibitors and vasodilators are not effective. Stimulants may be used in addition to other drugs, or they may be used alone in cases where other ED drugs have not worked.
