EM Logo5Christine Fox has been named assistant director for policy and analysis at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, GovConWire said Tuesday.
Fox most recently served as acting U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary to replace the retired Ash Carter.
The appointment to the number two position at the Pentagon occurred in December 2013 when Fox was serving as senior adviser at JHUAPL.
“She is an accomplished leader who has demonstrated time and again her ability to tackle the most complex national security challenges,” said Ralph Semmel, APL director.
Fox has also served as a program director within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where she oversaw reviews of defense operations, budget and technology investments.
She also led the Navy‘s Center for Naval Analyses as president.
