GovCon Wire, EM’s website for real-time news, recently reported on the appointment of 30-year federal information technology industry veteran Tom Anderson as chief operating officer at Reston, Va.-based STG Inc.
Anderson, formerly a group president at Wyle, will oversee STG’s day-to-day operations and work to drive new business across the company.
He started Wyle’s science, technology and engineering group and led a 3,500-employee team at CSC for the six years prior to joining Wyle.
ExecutiveBiz, EM’s platform for interviews with GovCon business leaders, recently spoke to Deb Alderson on her joining Sotera Defense Solutions as its president and CEO to discuss her goals for the company and her more than 25-year GovCon career.
Alderson told ExecutiveBiz she planned to visit each of the company’s offices nationwide and aims to create company-wide excitement during her first 30 days in office.
“There will be lots of signs in the first 30 days that indicate whether I am making a difference,” she said.
GovCon Executive, EM’s clearinghouse for executive profiles, highlighted the background and experience of Mark Guthrie, who has served as vice president of Lexmark Government Solutions for three years.
He previously led Lexmark’s federal solutions team for eight years and also led enterprise sales for the company’s Eastern region.
ExecutiveGov, the website for and about government leaders, covered Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s disclosure that the Pentagon would need a $52 billion cut in fiscal year 2014 if sequestration continues.
Hagel told a group of senators the cuts would fall on the civilian workforce, military personnel accounts cuts and modernization programs.
He also outlined the White House’s proposal for fiscal year 2014 that calls for slow military pay increases, a BRAC round and higher military healthcare fees.
