“My leadership experience in U.S. government contracting and telecommunications helped me to quickly get up to speed for this new role, which I started about five months ago,” Helfgott said.
He also explained Global Xpress, a high capacity broadband network Inmarsat produces.
“It will represent a fundamental shift in the kinds of services and bandwidth that will be available to users anywhere in the world in fixed and mobile use-cases,” he said.
He also spoke about the four categories of services that Inmarsat offers including Global Xpress, mobile satellite services, fixed satellite services and value added services.
Helfgott also mentioned that he is looking for the company to move into adjacent markets.
