Executive Mosaic’s weekly round-up of news is a can’t-miss, digestible snapshot of the GovCon industry covering the biggest executive moves, mergers & acquisitions and contracts straight from the pen of one of GovCon’s most respected facilitators and sources of breaking news, Jim Garrettson.
This week, the newsletter contained a summary of the Fiscal Cliff deal, two executive moves, M&A activity and two stories about new products.
In the sequestration summary, readers get to see the basics of what occured on the Hill and why sequestration could still occur two months from now.
The executive moves both occurred at Serco Inc. where Gary Shankman will become CFO and Chris Sullivan has been appointed CIO.
Shankman comes to Serco from SAIC where he held the same position and Sullivan most recently was the CIO at CSC’s North American public sector.

In other news, the newsletter details the recent CACI International acquisition of IDL Solutions.
“CACI’s acquisition of IDL Solutions, coupled with our recent acquisition of Emergint Technologies, is an important step in our strategy to build CACI’s healthcare IT business,” said Dan Allen, president and CEO.
IDL’s around 100 employees will join CACI’s federal civilian solutions business group where they will attempt to bolster the company’s health IT and analytics services.
The two new products that are explained in the newsletter come from BAE Systems and a General Dynamics’ subsidiary.
BAE Systems will provide the NGA with software analysis tools to help automate storage and process intell data under a $60 million contract.
General Dynamics Mediaware delivered two video capture systems to the Austrailian Army which are meant to record and index video to derive actionable intelligence on the ground.
The newsletter provides a mere glimpse into the vast amounts of excellent and insightful coverage Executive Mosaic introduces to executives through their media portfolio.
