Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., has called on the Government Accountability Office to examine the fiscal impact of the recently concluded partial government shutdown.
“The best way to prevent another unnecessary shutdown is to better understand how this irresponsible action fully impacts our economy,” Warner said in his letter to the agency.
Warner asked GAO Comptroller General Gene Dodaro in the Oct. 24 letter to provide his office with full assessment report of the shutdown’s impact on the economy, federal workforce, agency operations and services, state and local governments, federal contractors, private-sector companies and revenues.
