ExecutiveGov unveiled a number of stories this week about the U.S. Federal government and its leaders.
Two vital stories the website published included articles about Congress trying to avoid a government shutdown and another try at replacing Air Force One.
The U.S. House of Representatives planned a vote on a bill that would extend government funding and avert a federal government shutdown set to take place on October 1 if no deal is made.
If no deal is made that include the automatic budget cuts known as sequestration, the government will face $109 billion in spending cuts in the next fiscal year.
The details of the bill are supposed to be released today and if passed, will move directly to the Senate.

The Air Force has begun its second attempt to replace Air Force One, which has been in operation for more than 20 years in its current form.
The Presidential plane must have the capability to have interior working environments, fly across continents and have exclusive communications systems.
The Air Force intends to acquire the new aircraft by 2021 as the Boeing 747’s service life ends in 2017.
