The website published a number of stories this week including pieces about an omnibus bill heading to the White House and littoral combat ship acquisition.
The U.S. Navy wishes to procure 52 littoral combat ships that are made by teams led by Austal USA and Lockheed Martin.
“We have a valid requirement for 52 ships and the program is performing strongly in terms of cost,” said Sean Stackley, Navy acquisition chief.
The ships are built with technology for surface warfare, anti-submarine and mine-countermeasure operations.

Congress voted yesterday to approve a $1.1 trillion “omnibus” spending bill one day after the House passed the bill by a 359-67 vote.
The bill includes $45 billion to mitigate sequestration cuts and gives the Defense Department a $572 billion base budget.
“There is no question this bill will pass today … [but] this hole is getting deeper, deeper and deeper,” said Sen. Tom Coburn.
There will be an additional $85 billion set aside for war funds and $63 billion for research and development.
