GovCon Wire is the premiere news website in Executive Mosaic’s portfolio of seven online media properties which cover company, technology, government and industry news.
This week, there was one announcement which made all the headlines in government contracting and it was covered in depth on GovCon Wire.
The story was John Goodman being named interim head of Accenture’s Federal practice.
Goodman is currently managing director of Accenture’s  defense and intelligence business and was previously deputy undersecretary of defense.
The executive move came after former CEO Kay Kapoor resigned after two years leading the company.
According to Washington Technology, she left to pursue other business opportunities.
While still CEO, Kapoor talked to ExecutiveBiz in an exclusive executive spotlight about how she was positioning the company to win contracts in an environment of ever-increasing competition.
Kapoor was recently picked as one of six CEO’s nominated as Executive of the Year for the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards, in the category of companies exceeding $300 million in revenue.
Goodman has both a masters and doctorate degree from Harvard University and has been with Accenture since 1998.
