TYSONS CORNER, VA, October 5, 2015 — CAE has secured the regulatory approval and other requirements needed to finalize its $15 million acquisition of Bombardier‘s military aviation training business, GovCon Wire reported Friday.
CAE said Thursday the transaction’s close makes CAE the prime contractor of the flight training program for NATO pilots based in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
“The closure of this [NATO Flying Training in Canada] program acquisition follows the recent competitive win in the USA to deliver the Army Fixed Wing pilot training program, another full training system including live aircraft,” said Gene Colabatistto, president of the defense and security group at CAE.
