Hello, Guest!

EM Logo5Executive spotlights are in-depth Q&A’s which ExecutiveBiz conducts with numerous chief and top-level executives in GovCon.
The intimate access afforded by these interviews provides insight as to how companies are acquiring new business, what the future holds and the personal side of corporate leaders.
This past week, ExecutiveBiz published a spotlight with Rob Zitz, senior vice president and chief systems architect of Leidos’ national security sector.
Rob Zitz spoke on many subjects including Leidos’ transformation from SAIC, where cyber trends are going and Leidos’ workforce.
Zitz said the legacy SAIC had a diffused structure that led to higher costs and Leidos was a remedy to that.
“In contrast, Leidos has optimized portfolios and shared resources, unleashing the potential to use established skills in new technology areas to deliver solutions to new and existing customers. We’re free to pursue more business now without enormous OCI concerns. We’ve returned our focus to capital deployment with a business model to return cash to our shareholders,” said Zitz.

Zitz also talked about Leidos’ cybersecurity capabilities and how the company is always trying to stay ahead of the curve.
He also talked about capabilities in not only cyber, but analytics and big data.
“We have the largest cyber forensics capability in the intelligence community. Leidos has great depth in cryptographic algorithms, in team management, and in cyber software development. We’re also known for large‑scale systems design and integration as well as real‑time handling of big data,” he said.
Zitz focused on the workforce that Leidos has been  able to develop at the Reston, Va.-based firm.
“We have 22,000 people with science and technology backgrounds working missions that are critical challenges for United States national security and in commercial sectors like health, energy and infrastructure,” he said.
