Executive Mosaic recently elected Pierre Chao to the exclusive group, in recognition of his foresight as co-founder and managing partner at Renaissance Strategic Advisors, and other capacities.
The 26-year aerospace and defense consulting veteran also  serves as co-founder and managing partner of Enlightenment Capital, is on the board of directors of KeyW Corp. and is a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
During his career on Wall Street, Chao worked for firms including Credit Suisse First Boston, Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney.
“These days valuation is being driven by a handful of critical factors,” Chao told GovCon Exec for a feature on GovCon M&A. “What markets are the target [company] in, and what are the characteristics of those markets. Are they growth markets or are they declining?”
“Many of the problems of the acquisition system are really the result of unintended consequences of a very byzantine and at time outright contradictory set of laws and regulations, rather than outright malice or malfeasance on the part of the people,” Chao added recently.
