GovCon Wire, Executive Mosaic‘s website for real-time news on the government contracting sector, broke the news of 25-year industry veteran Kay Kapoor joining AT&T’s government solutions unit as president on Thursday.
Kapoor joins the telecommunications giant after previously serving as CEO of Accenture Federal Services, that company’s federal business subsidiary, holding responsibility for the firm’s business in the civilian, defense and security business areas.
ExecutiveBiz, a sister site of GovCon Wire and a member of EM’s umbrella, spoke with Kapoor in July 2012 for an executive spotlight, a series of interviews with thought leaders in the GovCon space.
Kapoor discussed the role of technology in the federal government and how Accenture aims to bring new innovations to federal agencies.
“It is imperative that we stay innovative and be aware of the constantly changing landscape of technological advances,” she said.
Prior to joining Accenture, she served as vice president and general manager for the advanced information systems unit at ITT Corp. and held a 20-year career at Lockheed Martin.
At Lockheed, she most recently served as a VP for the information systems and global solutions-civil unit.
