Hello, Guest!

Executive MosaicExecutiveGov is part of Executive Mosaic’s portfolio of media properties and serves its executive audience by covering stories focused on federal agencies, U.S. foreign policy and each branch of government.
The website published a number of stories this week including one about the DHS having a new CIO nominated and the U.S. scheduling talks with Turkey concerning a Chinese missile deal.
Luke McCormack has been nominated to return to DHS as CIO.
He has a former chief information officer for the Department of Homeland Security‘s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency between 2005 and 2012 and has served as the Justice Department‘s CIO for one year.
McCormack’s government career also includes service as acting director of the Customs and Border Protection agency’s infrastructure service division for one year before joining ICE.
Before entering government service, he worked at companies such as MCI and Ford Aerospace.

In other news, the U.S. has engaged in talks with Turkey in a bid to convince its NATO ally not to push through with a plan to buy long-range missiles from China.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier this week that nothing has been finalized but the Chinese offer is the best on the table right now.
The Chinese firm’s willingness to co-manufacture the missiles with Turkey is among its selling points.
