Hello, Guest!

ExecutiveGov unveiled a number of timely and important news items this week geared toward the government and government contracting executive.
Two of the most important stories the website published included an article about a new head of the IRS and a new ambassador to the UN.
John Kosinken, the former CEO of Freddie Mac, has been nominated by President Barack Obama to lead the IRS.
He also served as deputy mayor and city administrator of Washington, D.C. where he helped erase a $323 million deficit in 2003.
According to the article, he dealt with the deficit by managing federal grants and collecting Medicaid money.
Koskinen also served as president and CEO of consulting firm Palmieri Co.
In other government news, Samantha Power has been appointed U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in an 87-10 vote.
She succeeds Susan Rice, who left the post to become President Barack Obama’s national security adviser.
Power is a journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and was a foreign policy adviser during Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
