TYSONS CORNER, VA April 14, 2015 — Executive Mosaic — NavGeo LLC, a joint venture of Magnolia River, Photo Science and Woolpert, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide surveying and mapping work for the U.S. Navy, GovCon Wire reported Monday.
According to Shane Imwalle, senior vice president at Woolpert, the company chose to combine capabilities with the two other firms to seek long-term work for the military branch under the deal worth $30 million, the Dayton Business Journal reported Friday.
“It’s going to open a lot of doors that aren’t open today,” Imwalle told the publication.
The Business Journal said Woolpert is looking to diversify its defense contracts, which are currently mostly Army and Air Force.
The new work also aligns with the company’s expansion plans for its geospatial portfolio, the publication added.
“It’s very meaningful work in the near term… that should become a long-term relationship,” Imwalle said.
