Mac<br /> CurtisFormer Vangent CEO Mac Curtis broke to GovCon Wire last week that as of Feb. 6, he has joined private equity firm Veritas Capital to help identify and acquire businesses in the government marketplace.
Curtis first encountered Veritas in 2007 when Veritas took majority control of Vangent, then known as Pearson Government Solutions, where Curtis was president and CEO, for around $600 million.Curtis’ move comes on the heels of Vangent’s successful sale in September to General Dynamics Information Technology for around $960 million cash.
Curtis is a former chairman of the Professional Services Council and previously served as senior vice president of DynCorp Information & Engineering Technology.Serco promotes from within, eyes new markets
Serco Inc. has announced an executive shuffle aimed at honing its performance in new government markets.
Bo DurickovicSerco elevated Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff Bo Durickovic to the ranks of president and chief operating officer, where he will lead Serco’s U.S. and Canadian operations.A five-year member of Serco’s board of directors, Durickovic was named a “40 under 40” honoree byWashington Business Journal in September.
Harry Gatanas, formerly a senior vice president, has risen to the EVP role and will continue to lead Serco’s defense and intelligence group.Gatanas, a former senior acquisition executive at the National Security Agency, has more than 33 years of experience in Defense Department procurement.
CACI taps HR vet Good to develop workforce
Mary GoodCACI announced it named Mary Good, former senior vice president of human resources for SRA International, as CACI’s new executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
Daniel Allen, CACI’s president of U.S. operations, saidDan AllenGood will provide strategic direction to support CACI’s workforce building initiatives.
This will include the goal of aligning CACI’s HR goals with CACI’s business goals and initiatives.
At SRA, Good oversaw employee relations, compensation, recruiting, training and development.
Good has previously held the HR SVP role at Blackboard Inc., where she ran HR initiatives for acquisition and international expansion.
Deloitte promotes multiple board member Blume
Deloitte has tapped Jessica Blume to lead Deloitte’s public sector industry group and U.S. state government practice.
Deloitte said she would complete her transitions into those roles later this month.
In her new positions, Blume will work directly with Robin Lineberger, CEO and national sector leader for federal government services, to help align Deloitte’s practices with federal and state government needs.
Blume is a board member for Deloitte’s consulting practice, who has previously served as managing director for Deloitte’s public andindustries sectors.
Blume is also a former member of Deloitte’s U.S. board of directors.

Microsoft taps Cisco energy vet to lead worldwide public sales

Laura IpsenMicrosoft brought in 17-year Cisco veteran Laura Ipsen to lead sales and marketing to government, public and national security customers in more than 100 countries as corporate vice president of Microsoft’s worldwide public sector organization.
The former SVP and general manager of Cisco’s connected energy systems will also lead those efforts for education and non-privatized healthcare customers.
Ipsen established and managed Cisco’s global policy and government affairs division and led Cisco’s smart grid efforts.
Ipsen currently serves on the boards of Monsanto and the GridWise Alliance and is a former board chair of the Information Technology Industry Council.
