SAIC announced two pieces of news, as they sold their test and evaluations business to American Systems and received $242 million in healthcare contracts this quarter.
“The Test & Evaluation market traditionally experienced remarkable growth as conflicts are winding down,” said Bill Hoover, American Systems president and CEO. “Innovative technologies developed to support various divisions of our military now need to achieve interoperability.
Lockheed Martin also had two major announcements covered in the newsletter including their acquisition of C4ISR & UAS company Chandler/May and Marillyn Hewson being tapped to become the company’s new CEO on January 1. Hewson will succeed Bob Stevens who will stay on as executive chairman of the board.
In other news, Northrop Grumman elevated two executives to vice president roles.
Karen Campbell will be VP of marine systems and Chris Yamada will lead the new aerospace products organization. Both executives have been at the company for over 25 years.
The last piece of news the column includes is an acquisition by Salient Federal of application software developer LIST Software. Salient now covers 90 percent of its contract base with federal software or application development contracts.
Brad Antle, Salient’s CEO, said Salient will leverage List’s capabilities as it tries to win more analytics and engineering work.
