TYSONS CORNER, VA July 1, 2015 — Concurrent Technologies Corp. affiliate CTC Foundation has held its Great Americans Day Essay Contest annual event with Johnstown, Pittsburgh, students tasked to write about media man and humorist Will Rogers as this year’s topic, GovCon Executive reported Wednesday.
CTC said Tuesday Ed Sheehan Jr., president and CEO of CTC and CTC Foundation president, handed cash prizes to essay winners Taylor Strong of Northern Cambria High School and Angie Meyers of Windber Area High School at a ceremony held last week.
“The Great Americans Day Citizenship Forum and the essay contest bring our community together and get students thinking about what it takes to be a great American,” Sheehan said.
“Will Rogers was an advocate for progress and was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Thank you to Taylor and Angie for their essays and helping us to recognize the traits that make him a great American.”
